Heroes of Homeland
Beyond the port of Homeland is one place every Homelander knows, Dominica. Dominica is the governing body of Homeland, and all other islands on Oceana, at least says Dominica. No one directly interacts with anyone from this place, but their giant, industrial, ships arrive at Homeland to collect resources once every 5 or 6 years. Ships that spew great stacks of smoke into the sky and reek of sulfur, drop anchor, open up their rear, let down a huge metal conveyor belt and accept what could only be described as tribute. No one really knows why this is done, or why it started, but the sheer size of the ships, and the technology that is available to everyone else being only sails, leads little to question or argue. It is rumored that Dominica is at least three times the size of Homeland, and that outside of these two islands, and the small specks of dirt everyone from Homeland can already see, there is nothing but ocean. After the resources are collected, the ships close up and head off into the distance, not to be seen for half a decade.
All laws are dictated by Dominica, and enforced by Homeland’s local government strictly. Again, why, is not known, but people do not even seem to wonder why. There is too much to worry about: too many homeless, or guildless, too many thieves, or a scare in lack of resources as hunters continue to fail at their only task. If there were to be religion in Homeland, Dominica would be it’s GOD.
